HC Deb 11 March 1988 vol 129 cc395-6W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Sevices why the pest control contract relating to Claybury hospital has not been renewed, from which date it expired; whether he proposes to offer advice to the district health authority on this matter; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Currie

Health authorities are responsible for the management of pest control contracts within their districts. Details on local contracts are not collected centrally. The hon. Member may wish to contact Waltham Forest health authority to establish the current position on pest control at Claybury hospital.

Health circular, HC(86)14, issued in November 1986, sets out the requirements for hygiene and pest control in all health authority premises.
