HC Deb 02 March 1988 vol 128 cc584-5W
17. Mr. Wareing

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received about Her Majesty's Government's policy towards Kampuchea.

Mr. Eggar

We are in touch with various Governments and individuals about our policy towards Cambodia. This policy is clear. We seek the withdrawal of all Vietnamese forces from Cambodia and a settlement which would allow the Cambodian people to determine their own future, free from outside interference, through free and fair elections.

20. Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what new steps the United Kingdom Government have taken to encourage the peace process in Kampuchea.

Mr. Eggar

Our policy remains as set out in my speech during the Adjournment debate on Cambodia on 21 January.
