HC Deb 21 June 1988 vol 135 c478W
Mr. Batiste

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what arrangements he proposes for immigration clearance on trains using the Channel tunnel which are designed to provide a high-speed link between the north of England and the continent; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Renton

The Immigration Service is discussing with British Rail its requirements for official accommodation and facilities on trains which, using the Channel tunnel, will proceed via Olympia to destinations in the United Kingdom beyond London. Arrangements for immigration clearance will depend on the outcome of those discussions.
