HC Deb 17 June 1988 vol 135 c341W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what definition of radiological hazard is used by his Department.

Mr. Sainsbury

MOD recognises that some ionising radiations are a potential hazard to health. Procedures adopted for limiting the exposure of workers and members of the public are in accord with the philosophy of the International Commission on Radiological Protection and are governed by the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1985 and the Radioactive Substances Act 1960.
