Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will meet members of Deeside and Vale of Clwyd Mind Association to discuss the possible closing down of their projects under the unified training programme for the unemployed employment training;

(2) what special measures he will take to assist Deeside and Vale of Clwyd Mind Association to continue the currently effective community programme providing work for disadvantaged groups when employment training is fully operative;

(3) how many places Deeside and Vale of Clwyd Mind Association provide in the current year under the community programme;

(4) if he will enable Deeside and Vale of Clwyd Mind Association to become a training manager in its own right; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The Deeside and Vale of Clwyd Mind Association provided 39 places under the Training Commission's community programme scheme between 1 April and 31 May 1988. Decisions about the association's participation in employment training are for the Training Commission, and I understand that none has yet been made. I have no plans to meet members of the association.
