Mr. Temple-MorrisTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government policy towards the present and future role of the Soviet Union, at the United Nations, in the Persian Gulf, and generally in achieving an end to the Gulf war.
§ Mr. MellorWe urge all states to continue to work together for a peaceful solution through a negotiated settlement based on UN Security Council resolution 598. The Soviet Union, as a superpower and a permanent member of the Security Council, has an important role to play.
