§ Mr. Tom KingSince 30 June, the reorganisation of Army deployments has been completed with the establishment of a new brigade headquarters in Armagh. Various new physical improvements have been completed. New legislative measures to combat terrorism have been brought forward. A proposal for a draft Police and Criminal Evidence Order has also been published. Meetings between senior Royal Ulster Constabulary and Garda Siochana officers have continued and a further meeting between the Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Commissioner of the Garda Siochana took place at the Intergovernmental Conference on 27 July, which discussed a number of proposals for further improving the level of cross-border security co-operation.
