HC Deb 27 July 1988 vol 138 c313W
52. Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what effect air traffic control delays are having on the numbers of tourists arriving at Scottish airports from abroad; and whether he has prepared any estimate of the likely impact of reduced tourist arrivals on consumer spending in Scotland.

Mr. Lang

Recent air traffic control difficulties are unlikely to have had any significant impact on the number of foreign visitors to Scotland this year. Expenditure by these visitors is also unlikely to have been affected.
