HC Deb 27 July 1988 vol 138 c313W
53. Mr. Key

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps the Forestry Commission takes to co-ordinate forestry policy as between its own plantations and military land; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

It is the Forestry Commission's practice to co-operate with the military authorities wherever possible to meet their training requirements. Extensive use is made of commission land for this purpose, the most recent notable example being exercise Purple Warrior in south-west Scotland.
