To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if the mixed oxide nuclear fuel pin discovered at the Drigg nuclear waste dump site on 11 July was accounted for under the nuclear fuel pin material accountancy arrangement set out by the then Minister of State for Energy, the hon. Member for Eddisbury (Mr. Goodlad) in reply to the hon. Member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley (Mr. Foulkes),Official Report, 4 March 1987, column 596.

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if, pursuant to the reply to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy,Official Report, 14 June, column 101, on nuclear waste safeguards, he will state when the discussions to which he makes reference began; how many meetings have taken place; how many departmental officials have been involved; and when he expects agreement on arrangements for safeguarding nuclear wastes bearing civil fissile materials to be reached.
