To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the number of hernia repairs and hip replacement operations performed in each region, each year, since 1974 to the latest date for which figures are available.

I shall let the hon. Member have such information as is available centrally, without incurring disproportionate costs, as soon as possible.
