Mr. Harry BarnesTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment on which dates since 1 January 1980 inspectors from his Department have visited the works of Leigh Environmentals and its predecessors at Killarmarsh, Derbyshire; and if he will make a statement based upon his inspectors' reports.
§ Mr. MoynihanSince 1981 air pollution control inspectors have made over 100 visits to the site or its immediate vicinity, and hazardous waste inspectors have made nine visits. The purpose of these visits has been to ensure that the operator uses best practicable means to minimise emissions to air from registered processes, and to help the local authority to secure proper control over other processes.
