To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) what, since its inception, has been the total cost of administering the Estate Agents Act 1979, together with the main headings of cost;

(2) what are the total numbers employed responsible for the administration of the Estate Agents Act 1979 since its inception;

(3) what have been the numbers in each year since its inception of banning orders and warnings in respect of the Estate Agents Act 1979.

The administration of the Estate Agents Act 1979 is a matter for the Director General of Fair Trading and I have asked the director general to write to the hon. Member.
