Mr. Michael Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the total number of full-time equivalent employees of the Northamptonshire county council as at the end of December 1979, December 1983, December 1984, December 1985, December 1986 and December 1987.

The results of the joint manpower watch December 1987 survey are not expected until towards the end of March 1988. The numbers of staff employed by Northamptonshire county council, at September for each year, are as follows:
