HC Deb 24 February 1988 vol 128 cc203-4W
Mr. Chapman

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the present position on Victoria coach station.

Mr. David Mitchell

It remains the intention that Victoria coach station should be sold by the National Bus Company to London Regional Transport, so that it will stay in the public sector for the time being; as I have previously indicated, this will enable options to be kept open pending the outcome of the public inquiry into London Regional Transport's proposals for a new coach station at Paddington. The arrangements for this sale of Victoria coach station are now being made, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has made a modification to the National Bus Company's disposal programme accordingly. A copy of the modification has been placed in the Library of the House.
