§ 61. Mr. BeithTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give an estimate of the percentage by which he expects housing association rents to increase in real terms(a) over the next two years and (b) over the next four years.
§ Mrs. RoeI can give no such estimate. Existing housing association tenancies will remain subject to rents registered by rent officers. Rents on lettings which take place after commencement of the relevant provisions of the Housing Bill will be for the associations to determine, taking account of their costs and of the grant available to them.
