§ Mr. TrippierMy right hon. Friend has paid grants to UK 2000 and its participating organisations totalling £600,000 in 1986–87 and £1.4 million in 1987–88. My right670W hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have also paid smaller grants. In 1986–87, £400,000 of private sector support, in cash and kind, was secured by UK 2000 and in 1987–88 this has risen to £1.4 million. At the end of 1987–88 UK 2000 will be supporting over 400 projects offering over 12,000 community programme places and involving over 12,000 volunteers.
