To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will bring forward proposals to permit local education authorities to encourage parents to provide pre-school playgroup activities for children on school premises.

No. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that there is no significant obstacle to local education authorities offering such encouragement.
