Mr. Boyes

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many Shorland S550 armoured personnel carriers have been supplied to Turkey by Shorts; and if he will make a statement.

It has been the practice of successive Administrations not to announce details of specific defence sales business with other countries as the information is commercially confidential. In this case Shorts themselves announced on 27 January that they had received an order for 40 Shorland S550 APCs for Turkey.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the types and quantities of arms sold to Turkey.
