§ Mr. MaudeParagraphs 2.27 to 2.33 of the White Paper explain the work being done to increase confidence in the working of markets by achieving a fair level of protection for the individual customer and investor. The Financial Services Act 1986 establishes a new regulatory structure which will provide a comprehensive system of investor protection which will retain the flexibility to respond to developments in rapidly changing markets.
