To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what information he has on new car sales in 1987; and what was the importers' share of the market in 1987 and in 1986.

There were 2,013,693 new car sales in 1987. The importers' share of the market was 51½ per cent. in 1987 and 56 per cent. in 1986.
