To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to announce the findings of the Leeds-Bradford airport public inqurity into extended flying hours; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Trippier

The inspector has completed his report of the inquiry and his findings are now being carefully considered. When this has been concluded, a decision will be issued jointly by the Secretaries of State for the Environment and for Transport.

Whilst every effort will be made to reach the decision with the minimum of delay, I cannot predict at this stage when that will be.
