To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list in theOfficial Report the average length of time which elapses between the date of refusal of a social security benefit and the determination of an appeal against such refusal taken to the Social Security appeal tribunal in Scotland.

The latest administrative statistics on social security appeal tribunals for Scotland relate to appeals heard in the three months to March 1988, when the average time between lodgement of the appeal and the hearing was 25.9 weeks.
