To state the present position on the European collaborative programme for the development of nuclear fast reactors.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Energy (Baroness Hooper)In his statement made on 21st July this year (col. 1288), my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Energy detailed the Government's policy on the fast reactor. The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority is now discussing with our partners in the European Collaboration how to take forward an integrated programme of work. In addition, my right honourable friend has recently given his approval, in principle, for the UK parties to sign the various implementing agreements with the other parties in the collaboration.
