§ Mr. Michael SpicerIn the five-year period ending 31 March 1988 some 3,000 tonnes of uranium in the form of natural uranium hexafluoride has been sent to the USSR for enrichment. The material exported was the property of the United Kingdom generating boards and various overseas utilities. It is all returned as product (enriched uranium) or tails (depleted uranium) to either the United Kingdom, or, in the case of overseas customers, a destination of their choice. All the material is subject to international safeguards.
