§ 56. Mr. AllenMcKay asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on progress towards the return of elected government in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
§ Mr. EggarUseful talks were held in London from 1 to 3 September with political leaders and other representatives of the Turks and Caicos Islands. These reached broad agreement on modalities for a return to elected government which is now expected to be achieved in February-March 1988.
