In keeping with our goal of the total abolition of apartheid, we shall continue to promote dialogue between the parties leading to negotiations for fundamental change.

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent representations Her Majesty's Government have made to the South African Government about the situation in South Africa.

We have repeatedly made known to the South African Government our concern about aspects of the situation in South Africa. We have done so on several occasions recently, both in London and in Cape Town.
