HC Deb 21 October 1987 vol 120 cc836-7W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which estimates he and the London Docklands Development Corporation have made following the adoption of the strategic plans he announced in March of the likely maximum and minimum increase in the population of southern Newham in the course of the next decade.

Mr. Trippier

None, but in the strategy agreed for the royals it was estimated that about 6,850 new homes would be built in south Newham on LDDC land. At an average occupancy rate of 2.5 persons per unit, these homes might accommodate about 17,000 people.
