HC Deb 21 October 1987 vol 120 c816W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will bring forward legislation to limit the sale of fireworks to the general public to one week prior to 5 November; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maude

No. The present voluntary arrangements under which the sale of fireworks is restricted to a three-week period around 5 November is working well. I do not consider that a shorter period would be generally welcomed.
