HC Deb 21 October 1987 vol 120 c763W
16. Mr. Frank Cook

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received from the Government of the Falkland Islands in the last three months.

Mr. Eggar

The Falkland Islands Government have made no representations over the past three months, although, of course, they have been in contact with us on a range of issues.

55. Mr. Haynes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he proposes to take on the United Nations General Assembly resolution on the Falklands.

Mr. Eggar

Last year's resolution, like previous resolutions since 1982, failed to take account of the Falkland Islanders' right to self-determination. In the event of a similar resolution being tabled this year, our position is unchanged. Sovereignty is not negotiable.
