33. Mr. Heifer
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent communication he has had with the Government of Argentina regarding diplomatic relations beween the two countries.
§ Mr. Shersby
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contacts have been made with the Argentine Government and what progress has been made towards an understanding on avoiding incidents in South Atlantic fishing waters; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Eggar
Following my right hon. and learned Friend's statement to the House on 29 October 1986, we received some informal ideas from the Argentines, via the United States Government, which relate exclusively to the co-ordination of fisheries management in the interests of conservation and the avoidance of incidents. We have replied using the same channel. The exchange continues.
