§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will arrange for work on the A595 Egremont bypass to commence in the next financial year.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe shall build the new road as soon as possible.
Statutory orders for the line of the new road and alterations to side roads were published on 12 October. A compulsory purchase order will be advertised early next year. Progress will depend on the strength of objection to these orders and the necessity for a public inquiry
