§ Mr. Donald ThompsonThe recent report by the European Community's Court of Auditors, while drawing attention to a number of shortcomings, indicated that in general most member states are complying with the regulations. I know that the Commission takes very seriously its obligation to pursue suspected infringements; they have, for example, recently undertaken a successful action in the European Court against Italy's failure to implement quota regulations.
