§ Mr. Lofthouse
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will increase the housing investment programme allocation to Wakefield metropolitan district council in order to enable it to fulfil its statutory obligations under the Housing Defects Act; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. Roe
Wakefield borough council has already received an additional allocation of £0.230 million this year for housing defects. My right hon. Friend announced on 3 November that £44.7 million will be made available for additional HIP allocations this year for various purposes, including assistance under the Housing Defects Act. We hope to make allocations very soon.
