asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if the proposed National Rivers Authority will be freed from public sector borrowing requirement restrictions.

No; the National Rivers Authority will be subject to financial controls equivalent to those applying to similar public bodies.

This is one of the issues being considered in the light of comments received on the consultation paper on the National Rivers Authority issued by the Government in July.

  • Anti-graffiti painting
