§ Mr. WaldegraveThe recent announcement, by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, of a reduction in the tax on unleaded petrol can be expected to stimulate a still wider availability of this new fuel, which is already on sale at more than 200 stations throughout the United Kingdom. It is too early yet to estimate how quickly this change will prompt demand by the motorist for unleaded petrol.
