HL Deb 23 March 1987 vol 486 c108WA
Lord Molloy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will respond to the supplementary question asked by the Lord Glenamara during the Starred Question asked by the Baroness David on Tuesday, 10th March, in which he asked if discussions could be held with the buildings societies with a view to their providing help for families who can afford only rented accommodation.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Skelmersdale)

Her Majesty's Government have already held such discussions with the building societies and will continue to encourage the involvement of societies in the provision of private rented accommodation.
