HL Deb 16 March 1987 vol 485 c1306WA
Lord Houghton of Sowerby

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will have any interest in using Stanley House, Marsham Street, Westminster after its proposed demolition and redevelopment; and. if so for what purpose.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Skelmersdale)

Stanley House and the adjoining Great Westminster House are currently occupied as one building by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The owners, Pearl Assurance, have indicated their intention to redevelop both buildings in due course. Whether or not Her Majesty's Government will have an interest in the new building will depend upon the need for accommodation in this location when the building is completed, the terms required by the owners, and the availability and cost of a suitable alternative.
