§ Mr. Meadowcroftasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what figures he has for the numbers of children living in households who (a) are accepted by local authorities as homeless, (b) apply to local authorities to be accepted as homeless, (c) are living in bed and breakfast or other temporary accommodation, (d) are living in households on council waiting lists and (e) are living in homes unfit for human habitation.
§ Mr. TraceyInformation on the number of children is not collected for any of the categories mentioned. The only available relevant information concerns households with dependent children whom local authorities have accepted responsibility to accommodate. During the third quarter of 1986, local authorities in England accepted responsibility to accommodate some 16,000 households with dependent children. It is not known how these households were accommodated.
