asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has decided the amount of fee remission grant to allocate to schools participating in the assisted places scheme in respect of session 1987–88.

The allocations of fee remission grant 1987–88 are shown in the table below. As in 1986–87, 41 schools will participate.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he will not call for a report from Strathclyde police into the progress of the inquiries following the search of the British Broadcasting Corporation's premises in Glasgow; and if he will make a statement

There is no reason for Strathclyde police to report to me about this matter.
