§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when sections 5 and 6 of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act will be implemented; and what consultation has taken place with voluntary organisations over the guidelines for those sections.
§ Mr. ScottMy predecessor had a meeting in April about the implementation of the Act, including sections 5 and 6, with the steering group established by voluntary organisations. We have since received papers from the steering group about the implementation of sections 5 and 6 which are being studied.
On the timing of implementation of the various sections of the Act, I cannot add to my replies to the hon. Members for Caernarfon (Mr. Wigley), for Halifax (Ms. Mahon) and for Monklands, West (Mr. Clarke) on 30 June, at column 75.
