Whether work recently done at the National Laboratory at Culham demonstrating an ion source capable of producing 145 milliamperes in a continuous-wave mode, and its integration with a radio frequency quadrapole accelerator, is being made available to SDI workers in the United States.

Yes. This work is part of a research study into neutral particle beams which was the subject of a contract between the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and the United States Air Force in June 1986.
