Why the list of foreign countries requiring British visitors to have visas given by Mr Eggar in a Written Answer to the House of Commons on 21st October 1986 contained 19 mistakes, as shown by Baroness Young's Written Answer of the 18th December (H.L. Deb. cols. 251–2) to Lord Kennet.

We regret that the list was inaccurate. The error arose from a misunderstanding between departments in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, none of which held the information in the form requested. We have taken steps to improve our sources of information.
