asked the Minister for the Arts when he expects the Clore gallery extension to be opened to the public.

I am delighted to take this opportunity of acknowledging on behalf of the Government this generous gift by the Clore Foundation.

The Clore gallery extension to the Tate gallery will be opened by Her Majesty the Queen on 1 April and will be open to the public from Monday 6 April.

The Government are providing funds for the running costs of the new gallery.
