HC Deb 09 February 1987 vol 110 c82W
Mr. Gwilym Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the arrangements involving the Welsh water authority, local planning authorities and developers covering any potential damage to existing water supplies and sewage facilities arising from building developments on green field sites; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mark Robinson

The statutory provisions and other consultation arrangements under which the Welsh water authority, the local planning authorities and developers negotiate planning consents provide a satisfactory framework for the general avoidance of damage to existing water supply and sewerage facilities. I am advised that generally the Welsh water authority has no difficulty in recovering the cost of repairing any damage caused by developers.
