To ask the Minister for the Arts when he plans to meet the director of Midlands Arts to discuss the level of funding for the arts in the west midlands in 1988–89.

Mr. Luce

I expect to meet the director when I visit the west midlands region early in 1988. It is for the Arts Council to determine the distribution of its grant-in-aid to the regions and between different art forms.
