To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the number of farms in the United Kingdom which are in the size range of(a) under 100 acres, (b) between 100 and 199 acres, (c) between 200 and 299 acres, (d) between 300 and 399 acres, (d) between 400 and 499 acres, (f) between 500 and 599 acres, (g) between 600 and 699 acres, (h) between 700 and 799 acres, (j) between 800 and 899 acres, (k) between 900 and 999 acres and (l) over 1,000 acres.

The distribution by size of the main agricultural holdings in the United Kingdom at June 1986 is given in the table. This is based on the size groups which are closest to those requested and for which data are readily available.
