§ 40. Mr. Tom ClarkeTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he intends to meet the Glasgow Forum on disability to consider the full implementation of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 in Scotland and its input into joint planning in terms of the National Health Service (Amendment Act) 1986.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythI have no plans at present to meet the Glasgow Forum on disability. As indicated to the hon. Member in my reply of 10 November, the timing of implementation of provisions in the Act not already commenced or, as in the case of section 13, proposed for commencement will depend on the availability of resources. Consultations on this will be held at the appropriate stage with the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities.
On joint planning, I refer to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member on 24 July 1987. Any involvement by the forum in joint planning in the Glasgow area would be a matter for local determination.
