Mr. Alan W. WilliamsTo ask the Secretary of State for the Envrionment if he will give the 1986 levels of production of chlorofluorocarbons for(a) Britain and (b) the European Economic Community; and what equivalent information he has for (i) the United States of America and (ii) the world as a whole.
§ Mr. MoynihanProduction figures for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are not given separately for the United Kingdom or any individual member state of the European Community. Estimates of 1986 production of CFCs 11, 12, 113 and 114 are as follows:
630W
Kilotonnes EC 440 United States 300 Rest of World 290 Production of CFC 115 is negligible, with world production in 1986 estimated at 15 kilotonnes.

Mr. Alan W. WilliamsTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to the United Kingdom annual production of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs or Freons) in 1957,1960, 1970 and 1980; and what is his estimate for the 1990 production capacity.
§ Mr. MoynihanInformation about production of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) by individual member states of the European Community is not available. For the years in question figures for the EC as a whole are available only for 1980 when production of CFCs 11 and 12 was estimated at 296 kilotonnes. (Source European Council of Chemical Manufacturers' Federations: CEFIC). 1980 production figures for other CFCs and estimates of production capacity for 1990 are not available.
