§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the Official Report a list of local authorities with Orlit and Orlit-type houses in their area, and, for each local authority and the Scottish Special Housing Association, showing total numbers of houses, numbers demolished, numbers on which remedial work has started and numbers still awaiting attention.
§ Mr. AncramThe table lists Scottish local authorities which have publicly owned Orlit or Blackburn-Orlit dwellings in their areas; the numbers reported to be owned by local auhorities and other public bodies excepting the Scottish Special Housing Association; and the numbers now owned by the Scottish Special Housing Association.
Information is not held centrally on the numbers demolished or on which remedial works have been undertaken by the local authorities: but the Scottish Special Housing Association has demolished 144 Orlit dwellings and has carried out remedial works on 582 out of the 964 it now owns.
In addition, the local authorities own approximately 400 single-storey Orlit bungalows which are not included in the above totals.
